The Lighthouse Inn is set atop the White Cliffs of Dover, just outside Folkestone. Located in the picturesque village of Capel-le-Ferne, on the Old Dover Road, it has stunning panoramic views across the channel; France can be seen on a clear day.

"James and Eddie, the new owners of The Lighthouse made our son's Christening day and the build up to it such a wonderful time.

We had a FABULOUS meal the night before the Christening with lots of family who also stayed at the lighthouse. James is an amazing chef with such passion. He discussed a menu with me and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The staff were also very attentive and very efficient. (We have some real foodies within the family and all found no fault!)

The day of the Christening went wonderfully too and every body spoke of what a wonderful day it was. Eddie even made a sign for the man of the moment's high chair and provided colouring for the kids! Nice touch...

Over all, everyone had a wonderful time and the whole package was great value for money. We often eat at the Lighthouse now and enjoy the warm and friendly welcome from all staff!

Well done James & Eddie! Keep up the good work"

Room with a view
We stayed at the Lighthouse on the off chance with a late booking for a spontaneous break away.
Now you think close to Dover and also Folkestone might not be the ideal place to relax but this place certainly breaks the mould.
Set right on top of the cliffs with only France to look at on a clear day, and the occasional man walking his dog, this little hide away had all that you could ask for.
On arrival we viewed the menu and decided to eat in. Now the restaurant was not overly busy and maybe chef had time to prepare, but what he did was a truely exceptional plate of food.
The menu was varied and exciting and also had vegeterian dishes outside your normal run of the mill options. As a bonus to the great food it was also reasonably priced
Customer service was second to none and it seemed like the young lady who looked after us could not do enough for her paying guests and seemed to really enjoy her work.
The rooms were a little tired and I mean a little. This was the only fault I could find with the place, however they were spotlessly clean and refreshed on a daily basis.
Yes I would stay again, but maybe next time for a little longer.
Thank You.
